There are many of us who fall victim to disguising the chairs in our bedrooms with large amounts of dumped clothes – do you recall when you last used that chair for its intended purpose? Or is it a case of when you need the chair, the clothes get moved onto your bed, and then when it’s time for sleep, the lifeless lump of clothes move back to that trusty chair?

Queensland based designer Surya Graf has heard you, “Hangman” provides a convenient spot for those favourite pair of jeans, jackets and shirts, allowing your chairs to be free form clothing! Hangman is a free standing clothing rack manufactured from bent stainless steel tubing and is constructed as one continuos line which bends around itself.

Hangman is available for purchase through Surya’s collaborative design consultancy; Snack On, please visit their website for further details.

Mr Steendyk is a man of many talents. Brian Steendyk is the driving force behind his Brisbane based design studio that engage in a mixture of design disciplines; architecture, product design, interior, exhibition, landscape and urban design!

His product range is separated into an alternate branch called Anon and Co.

Design is always up for interpretation, so before reading on and scrolling down to discover the truth – we ask you… what do you think the product shown below is?

Got it….. well what are you waiting for? Read on to see if you are correct….

“Puddle” is Steendyk’s interpretation of an umbrella stand, which demonstrates the combination of functionality and pleasing aesthetics. If you guessed a kid’s stool – well you are also right as Puddle’s purpose was also designed with this in mind. Fabricated from nylon coated steel rod with a base manufactured from recycled polyethylene plastic, it is available in various eye popping colours.

Our first impressions of Puddle, is that on it’s own – it looks like a unique and sculptural interpretation of a plant sitting in it’s planter box, a plant of course that will never die and still look good no matter how much it is neglected.

Who doesn’t like having things in their home which constantly strike interest and questions – after all, everyone loves a guessing game!

Feel free to share your initial guesses of Puddle at first glance in the comments section below.
